Raveeto (raveeto.com) helps you find the best cycling deals in Canada. You can use the whole site without an account; an optional account is only used to receive price alerts. Raveeto collects as little information as possible. This policy explains what, why, and how to exercise your rights (Québec's Law 25 and Canadian federal law). The French version prevails.

What Raveeto collects

  • Clicks to shops. When you click "See the deal" or "See the offer", Raveeto records the offer, the shop, the page of the site you came from (without its parameters), the language and the country. The country is derived from your connection by our network provider; your IP address is not stored. This data cannot identify you, even if you have an account.

  • Preferences on your device. Your browser keeps your theme (light or dark) and your tracker choices. This data stays on your device: Raveeto does not receive it.

  • Audience measurement, only if you accept it. Page views, referring page, language, device type and country, with Umami, a cookieless tool hosted by Raveeto in Canada. Your IP address is not kept. Umami never receives your e-mail or your first name.

  • Surveys and browsing analysis, only if you accept it. During the beta, Raveeto uses Contentsquare to offer you short surveys and to understand how the site is used: page views, clicks, scrolling, mouse movements, device and browser type, and a recording of your visit (session replay) that reproduces what is shown on screen. The sign-in, account, alerts, unsubscribe and contact pages, and your first name, are masked in these recordings: Contentsquare receives neither your e-mail nor your first name. Contentsquare sets cookies on your device (_cs_id, visitor ID, 13 months; _cs_s, session, 30 minutes; _cs_c). Your survey answers are linked to this ID, never to your account.

  • Technical logs. To serve pages and protect the site against attacks, our host and our network provider process your IP address and the technical details of your connection. Raveeto keeps its own logs no longer than 30 days.

  • E-mails. If you write to us, we keep your address and message as long as needed to answer and follow up.

Account and price alerts (optional)

If you create an account to watch prices, Raveeto collects:

  • your e-mail address, to sign you in (a 6-digit code is sent to you; there is no password) and to send you your alerts;
  • your first name, shown in the header and in our e-mails, and the language of your e-mails;
  • your alerts: the product, size, colour, shop if any, your threshold price, and their history (triggered, sent, paused…);
  • your consents: the date you accepted the alert e-mails and, if you ticked the box, Raveeto news and deals, with the version of the text shown.

Sign-in codes and session tokens are never stored in clear. To keep you signed in, the site sets a strictly necessary session cookie (rv_session) on your device, valid 90 days after your last visit; it is used for nothing else and needs no consent.

Measurement of our e-mails. To know whether our alerts are useful and improve them, our e-mails contain a small image and tracking links that tell our sending provider whether you opened the e-mail and which link you clicked. These measurements are linked to your address. To avoid them, turn off automatic image loading in your mail app, or unsubscribe from the alerts.

Raveeto sells no information, shows no advertising and does not use your alerts to target you or profile you for advertising.

Why

To run and secure the site; to know which pages and shops interest visitors; to collect feedback from beta testers and spot what gets in the way on the site; to count the clicks used to compute affiliate commissions; to sign you in, send you your price alerts (at most one e-mail a day) and, if you accepted, Raveeto news and deals; to answer your messages.

Links to shops and affiliation

Some links are affiliate links (see the affiliate disclosure). When you leave Raveeto, you land on a shop's site, sometimes through an affiliate network: these sites may set their own cookies to attribute the sale, under their own privacy policy. Raveeto receives neither your name nor the details of your purchases.

Providers

  • OVHcloud: hosting of the site, accounts and alerts, in Beauharnois (Québec).
  • Cloudflare: content delivery and protection of the site; technical data, and what you type in forms, pass through its servers, including outside Québec, notably in the United States.
  • Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France): sending of our e-mails (sign-in codes, alerts, confirmations). Brevo receives your address, first name, language and the content of the e-mails; its data is hosted in the European Union (France, Germany, Belgium). Some of its subprocessors (support, delivery) may access it from the United States or India, under standard contractual clauses. Raveeto assessed this communication outside Québec before making it.
  • Contentsquare (Contentsquare SAS, France): surveys and browsing analysis, only with your consent. Its data is hosted in the European Union (Ireland). Some of its subprocessors may access it from outside the European Union, under standard contractual clauses. Raveeto assessed this communication outside Québec before making it.
  • Affiliate networks: To complete once the network is chosen.

Retention

  • Clicks, which contain no personal information, are kept for the site's statistics.
  • Audience measurement data is kept for at most 24 months. To confirm before publication.
  • Survey and browsing analysis data is kept by Contentsquare for at most 13 months.
  • Your account and alerts are kept as long as your account exists. If you do not sign in and click in none of our e-mails for 24 months, we write to you; without any reaction within 30 days, your account and alerts are deleted.
  • The log of our e-mail sends and the alert history are kept 12 months; sign-in codes, one day at most.
  • A deletion is immediate in our databases; backup copies disappear by themselves after 14 days.

Your rights

You may ask to access the information about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw your consent at any time:

  • from "My account": change your first name, the language of your e-mails and your choice for the news, or delete your account (everything is erased at once);
  • from every alert e-mail: the "Unsubscribe" link stops all alert e-mails in one click;
  • for the site's trackers: the "Manage cookies" link at the bottom of every page.

For any other request, write to [email protected]: we answer within 30 days. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Minors

The site is not aimed at minors. The account and alerts are for people aged 14 and over.

Changes

The date of the last update is at the top of this page. If an important change affects your tracker choices, the consent banner will be shown again; if it affects your account, we will write to you.
